well, it is very hard to say the percentage of how many species we have found, mainly because in order to know the percentage of something u need to know how many are overall, and that is the problem right now, so though we can say 10 % we dont know because we dont know the overall number.

It depends on how you are defining animal. If you mean things larger than microspopic them we are well over 90%, with the remaining species being critters smaller than a bread box. If you include microbial life, then I agree with the 2 to 10 percent call, but how could we really know.
