Are rubber bands recyclable? I have been recycling more lately. Even at work I recycle all paper. I am wondering if rubber bands are too. I use a lot A LOT at work so it would be good to know. I hate just throwing away ones that get old and break.

For a serious answer, no. Rubber deteriorates fairly quickly, it is plant derived.
If the rubber was recycled into other products, similar to car tyres, yes, but they are so small, it is uneconomical.

• Stick your nose into a sack of rubberbands and take a good whiff, do you really want this stuff above ground for very long? Smell test.
