Are there any organizations geared towards banning styrofoam? I did a search and could not find any. I know styrofoam is not the only issue these days... but it just bugs me how many businesses are still using styrofoam, despite the fact that it is so bad for the environment. If our government will not ban it, we can still take action to educate people about the effects of styrofoam on the environment.

Would it be hard to start such an organization? How many people would it take?

Is anyone interested in starting/joining such an organization?

I would be interested in things like, writing letters and/or picketing businesses who use styrofoam to pack food...as well as raising awareness about styrofoam, writing letters to government officials, and so forth.

Are there any like minded people out there?

Thanks for the link ! I will check it out. I am in Houston, TX but we are moving to Columbus, OH in two months.

The amount of styrofoam I see being used on a daily basis is SICK. Restaurants, temples, churches, schools... you name it, they are using it ! It makes me want to vomit.
There are more articles you can trace to find organization may try to ban this harmful product in the US.
