Warning. I am not an expert in this. But for about fifteen minutes, several years ago, I was interested in gun laws. So here goes.A concealed-carry permit is a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Usually, that means that it is legal to carry a licensed weapon in public where it is visible, but you need a special permit to carry it in a place where no one can see it. So if you have a concealed-carry permit, and suddenly your gun becomes visibile, its not a problem.
When I first moved to Arizona, it was legal to carry, but illegal to carry concealed. This meant that if you were carrying a weapon, it needed to be holstered such that people could see it. No problem. People just wore their weapons such that they were visible.
Then , the concealed-carry permit became available. So you could still carry the same way you did before - visibly - OR you could carry your weapon in a concealed place but only if you had a concealed carry permit. Make sense?
There may be other, specific ordinances or rules that apply to your gun that you need to know about - concealed or not concealed. Some businesses will prohibit weapons - concealed or not. And it may be that some cities, municipalities, school property (especially school property - hello Littleton?), housing developments, etc. etc. have rules about carrying weapons.
But in general, I think that if you have a license to carry concealed, you also have a right to carry your weapon visibly.
Great question. And remember. I don%26#039;t really know what I%26#039;m talking about - so find a more reliable source if you really really want to know for sure.

You are a perfect candidate to go to prison with your attitude about carrying a gun. You can%26#039;t carry a gun on school property no matter what. Look at your local, county, state and federal laws before you want to pack heat my friend! Why do you need to carry anyway?

It%26#039;s your constitutional right to carry any weapon anywhere and if someone tries to stop you, gun them down.

The only way to know for sure is to ask in the area you live or where you plan to carry the gun. If you%26#039;re licensed for CCW you don%26#039;t need to worry if someone sees your gun if your shirt pulls up, not from a legal standpoint. But you may have to calm down a scared kid or make sure nobody tries to take it from you.
On some campuses you can carry a gun, on many you cannot. Again, you%26#039;d need to ask at that specific institution. As some have pointed out it can save lives if you carry a gun.
I live in Utah. It%26#039;s legal to carry a concealed gun on campus if you%26#039;re licensed. Last year we had a whacko start shooting up a shopping mall and if not for the timely intervention of an armed off-duty cop he might have killed a hundred people. He was armed for it and had the ammo. If no cop was available and he kept shooting shoppers until officers arrived on scene, the numbers would have been much higher. Is anyone going to argue that having another shopper with a concealed gun who knew how to use it wouldn%26#039;t have been a good idea in a similar case?
I think it%26#039;s been said before that guns don%26#039;t kill people. Hark back to Columbine and assume those idiots had no guns. Then they%26#039;d have resorted to the dozen pipe bombs they had brought with them and killed ten times as many victims. Guns are the most convenient means of killing oneself and others but people are resourceful and not having a gun isn%26#039;t going to make them suddenly peace-loving, they%26#039;ll just use whatever is close to hand.
