Can you put tampons and pads down the toilet? I actually know the answer to this question - so im letting everyone know that you should NOT do it. my dad works in the sewage treatment business and he says it clogs up the machines and its difficult for them to get it out. Plus it plugs up the pipes in your house!

Tampons yes, Pads no.

Most Tampons these days are made with dissolvent cotton, so you will be able to flush them down the toilet. (of course read the label to make sure it is dissolvent.)

As for pads, they contain nylon, and will not dissolve in water and WILL plug your toilet no matter what. 100% 2 Votes

  • Definitely NOT if you have a septic system instead of municipal wastewater treatment. 0% 0 Votes

  • If you have a %26quot;watersaver %26quot; toilettank, (the order of idiots who rule at E.P.A.) do not spill even thick soup into the toiletbowl.
You need a lot of water to flash,or even rotor-ooter plumberwork.
Fortunately I have resisted of the idiots order and kept the large size toilet.
This way I SAVE WATER MORE. 0% 0 Votes
