Did you know ethanol creates more greenhouse gases than gasoline? Did you know ethanol creates more greenhouse emissions that regular, old fashioned gasoline?

Ethanol creates more greenhouse emission than gasoline indirectly, this means that the production of ethanol, from growing to harvesting, fermentation, refining, and transportation, causes more emissions than if we just stuck to gasoline.

If you don%26#039;t believe me, please look it up.

This is our planet and we need to do what we can to save it.

ETHANOL is NOT the answer.

Not only does ethanol cause more greenhouse emissions but it creates more waste than gasoline and more and more of the worlds%26#039; farmers are switching to corn production due to the need for the creation of more ethanol.

Because of this, there have recently been levies placed on rice purchases across the world.

Some believe that we (the United States) only believe in ethanol so deeply because it can be created without major assistance from any not-so-friendly countries. I believe this is true. Please write your congressmen %26amp;

women to support more alternative fuels like H (Hydrogen).

Not only is hydrogen the most abundant element in the universe, but when it used to create fuel in today%26#039;s vehicles, it%26#039;s only byproduct is water vapor.

Now thats revolutionary.

Please, we only have one chance to save our planet.

  • Switchgrass ethanol doesn%26#039;t work well, either.

    %26quot;Several new studies show the biofuel boom is doing exactly the opposite of what its proponents intended: it%26#039;s dramatically accelerating global warming, imperiling the planet in the name of saving it. Corn ethanol, always environmentally suspect, turns out to be environmentally disastrous. Even cellulosic ethanol made from switchgrass, which has been promoted by eco-activists and eco-investors as well as by President Bush as the fuel of the future, looks less green than oil-derived gasoline.%26quot;

    Even if existing ethanol is cleaner than gas, it take more to produce. The amount of ethanol required to fill the tank of an average SUV could feed 100 people for a year. Also, the amount of land required to actually grow all this corn is phenomenal. In Brazil, people are cutting down the rainforests to grow corn, causing even more global warming. 0% 0 Votes
  • One thing we should remember about ethanol that some studies leave out is that The net carbon released is from the planting - fertilizing - harvesting of what ever source is used. The carbon released from the combustion of ethanol is less then from petroleum based fuels. You would not include combustion released carbon as that carbon was obtained from the atmosphere, so it would be neutral.

    Petroleum releases carbon that has been stored for millions of years adding to the green house effect.

    No mater what the carbon admissions are, we should not be using food stock as the source for ethanol or bio fuel. Corn, rice, soy etc... need to be used as food or feed. Granted , it is not as easy to produce Ethanol from cellulose waste right now, soon it will become a much better solution then we have at the present. 25% 1 Vote
