Do i need planning permission to live in caravan at parents? address is in northern ireland in the countryside

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

in mainland uk it is fine to %26#039;sleep%26#039; in the caravan so long as it is within the garden, and you dont have a toilet and state that you dont cook there (just take the gas bottle out of kitchen. kettle is fine). in other words it is classed as a temporary spare bedroom rather than as a separate residence an so does not require planning permission.
i had a 30 foot bus in the field behind my parents for 2 years until i was grassed up, the council chap told me the above details then. 60% 3 Votes

  • If the law is the same as in the UK then yes you need permission.

You can store a caravan at your home address without permission but you need to apply for permission to make it a residence. 0% 0 Votes
  • store it there and dont tell anyone you are living in it thats what i would do, my mate did the same lived in a caravan at his parents for years he never had any trouble. 0% 0 Votes
  • Are you a knacker or a traveller? If you are then you%26#039;re above the law. All of those ******* knackers are above the law.. 0% 0 Votes
