Yes, my family did turn everything off. We lit candles and played word games. I was great! This is what we do when the electricity goes off in a storm, especially a snowstorm. It%26#039;s a lot of fun and really makes you think about the things you can do without. Also, I remember the first Earth Day, I was in 11th grade! I%26#039;m hoping this catches on and my kids will remember the first Earth Hour!Other Answers (9)

I switched my lights off! Well, we kept one or 2 lights on so we could actually do some stuff, but we made up for it by keeping the rest off for about an extra hour.

Oh yeah, we DID it.
I turned the lights off and my wife suddenly had all kinds of energy.
Candles, Kris????? You are dumping a lot more carbon into the atmosphere with a candle than a light bulb. -
