Help please....? My husband and I live in a duplex and when we moved in our landlord told us to be careful of letting things go down the kitchen drain like food and fat etc... because he didn%26#039;t really plumb it correctly and there was a spot that stuff can get stuck in. We have been here for a year now and with-in the last few months our kitchen sink has started backing up into our bathtub and has a really gross rotten egg smell. There are bugs coming up out of the drains, and I am scared to call the landlord, because I don%26#039;t want to get in trouble for letting too much stuff go down the drain. So we are fixing it ourselves.
#1 which is the best way to get rid of the blockage, like drain cleaners whatever
#2 what is the best way to get rid of the bugs....
Thanks for any suggestions, we need them.

You won%26#039;t be in nearly as much trouble as your landlord. Your apartment is unsafe, it is time to move out and report him to your municipal health or building inspector.

  • i%26#039;m not really good at this stuff but my advise is that you use a stick or something (i don%26#039;t know what it is called) to get rid of the blockage. in the bugs, use some insect sprays or what and then if problem persists, try to ask an expert about it. to prevent those things from happening again, try to put a filter or a net in the hole of the drain so that solid things could not enter to the drain

hope i have helped you and hope you could fix it soon
