How do I request an environmental impact study from my city?
My city is building on land that they promised they wouldn%26#039;t. It%26#039;s a nice forest and I%26#039;d like to fight to keep it. Please help.

Pursue fighting it if you think it is wrong. Start a committee in your town, or join one if you already have one. Call a town meeting to address the problem, and to get some attention.

It depends which country you live in. You%26#039;ll definitely need the help of a lawyer who specializes in Environmental Law.
The first step would be to get an injunction from a judge to prevent building on the land until an Environmental Assessment is done, then to request an Environmental Assessment under the appropriate statute.

I also recommend the DEP or equivalent in your state. Another option is involving the Sierra Club or Audubon - they could perhaps lead you in the right direction. Good luck!

There should be a Conservation office in your county. If you can%26#039;t find one, call the state office. Also, look up some watershed groups in your area. They can help with information and have the facts and figures you need. or they can tell you where to find it. Also, you might want to google some %26quot;environmental%26quot; attorneys so you know what legal course your groups may have. But, the DEP or EPA have to approve plans for changing of %26quot;green space%26quot;. Whose your DEP rep? I%26#039;ve wondered why no one is concerned about the %26quot;green spaces%26quot; disappearing from our cities? It effect much of the flooding problems we see, there is no place for the water to be absorbed. Also, wondered why the %26quot;global warming%26quot; alarm did not have anything to say about all the concrete we%26#039;re replacing the earth with! That%26#039;s got to effect the reflection of the sun%26#039;s rays. ???
