i put my trash in plastic shopping bags i get from the grocery store... irealize that is bad for the environment thats just how i was brought up
Best Answer
here is how I break down my trash:1. all the food stuff goes into the compost bin(to either be dumped in my yard, or be take away by recycling truck).
2. the rest of my stuff is divided:
-- plastic bags
--paper/cartons - broken down and folded, tied with the string
--metal/aluminum - in plastic bags (which I keep,after recycling
the metal)
--plastic bottles - in plastic bags(also kept after recycling the
bottles).
--glass - in strong bags(again, recycling)
3. once a week - make a trip(yes, its boring to stand in line) to the recycling facility and give it to them, get some money back.
4. after that, i barely have any trash left, and that goes in the trash bin,
directly.
NOTE: Costco sells biodegradeable plastic bags.

Get those paper bags that liquor stores have. They are big, tough and made of biodegradable recycled materials.
So in essence, drink more alcohol, and claim it is for environmental reasons. -
Get a grip.

They keep the paper bags under the counter.
Or, you could make a couple of bags out of canvas and attach a very sturdy strap then, instead of using plastic or paper, use your own bag. -
Oh no plastic bags!! EARTH KILLER!! Seriously, it makes no difference.

There%26#039;s nothing wrong with that. No worse than those huge 55 Gal plastic bags. Only other thing you might do, if your town promotes the program, is to seperate paper, plastic and glass for recycling.
