First, see if your city services can%26#039;t add you to their route for once-weekly curbside recycling program. Sometimes they can do that. Otherwise, the lines at the recycling-for-profit centers can get long, but oftentimes cities will have a few %26quot;convenience centers%26quot; for quick and easy drop-off of your recyclables. In my town, which is relatively small, they offer these %26quot;convenience centers%26quot; in many of the neighborhoods so you%26#039;re bound to find something! Good luck!

  • Just today I saw drop off bins for a local charity in the Wal Mart parking lot. One bin was for paper, the other for magazines and newspapers. At work we save our aluminum cans and someone from Habitat for Humanity comes by and picks them up. I%26#039;m sure other charities would be interested in doing the same thing if you could make it worth their time. I%26#039;d call your favorite charities and ask about it
  • We drop ours off at the cans for kids drop off site, so we not only recycle but we are giving to some kids future.
you might check with the local service club, or churches in your area to see if they have a pick up program. jcms
  • If you are in Woodstock there are bins for metal, paper etc in the parking lot of the St John%26#039;s Lutheran Church at the corner of rt 47 and St. Johns Rd. Hope that helps
  • in my neighborhood, we can just put out recyclables on the curb in a box of our own and they get picked up.
