Good answers you got from your friends above.
However, I think you may even mean:
Gem
Jewel
Precious stone
Semi-Precious stones
Anything can be a Jewel (q.v.). Even a pretty plastic stone can be called a jewel. A gem is about the same.
However, There a limited number of stones that are allowed to be called %26quot;Precious Stones%26quot;, like Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire, etc.
Semi-Precious is used with regards to any stone that can (when worked, polished, etc.) have a value. That is %26quot;real%26quot; (market), %26quot;intrinsique%26quot;, etc.
So, if you polish a stone from the beach, well enough that it really looks beautiful, then it would be a Gem, Jewel, and a Semi-Precious stone (especially if you can sell it). 0% 0 Votes -
