Is there any country you know that regualtes greenhouse emissions? Any plans for that? 60% 3 Votes

Every country that signed, must have a regulatory office to monitor and coordinate compliance with the treaty.

China, India, and third-world countries are exempt from Kyoto requirements. China will surpass the USA in CO2 emissions this year, and is building coal-fired power plants at the rate of one per week.

No country that has signed has hurt their economy to comply, and most don%26#039;t honor the promises that they made.

Canada signed the treaty, then increased its emissions by 20%. Apparently signing, and then not complying is somehow %26quot;better%26quot;. The reason the USA doesn%26#039;t casually sign treaties and then renege, is that a treaty ratified by the US Senate has the same effect of law as the Constitution, and as enforceable and must be honored.

That is why environmental groups are so incredibly focused on pressuring the USA. The treaties it signs must be lived up to, unlike every other country in the world, that is free to ignore and renege when convenient. 0% 0 Votes
