Don%26#039;t know why is works so well, but it does. Trust me - I used to get eaten alive! It has a kind of citrus smell - so OK for boys/men too. It%26#039;s not girly I live in Scotland %26amp; go hiking and camping. 20% 1 Vote
  • i recently moved to the west of Ireland and had never encountered these foul beasties before as i am a Londoner. they were eating me alive until the local pharmacist told me about garlic capsules, they hate the smell and leave me alone. give it a try. 0% 0 Votes
  • Always get your insect repellant spray/cream from a good camping shop - never the chemists - the majority of the ones we have seen in chemists are actually scented! Use it as described, we have found they work just fine (even in Scotland!) 0% 0 Votes
  • Take a used dryer sheet from the laundry and stick it in your belt or waist band. Insects really don%26#039;t like smells that we humans like. If your friends ask you what you are doing just tell them they are buggy. 0% 0 Votes

  • Lavender oil on your skin. Plant lavender in your garden.

A friend found fahrenheit aftershave used to keep them away. 0% 0 Votes
  • Have you tried putting neat tea tree oil on your skin. It works in Brum (but Scottish midges are a superbreed so I%26#039;m told). 0% 0 Votes
  • Sounds extreme but it works, try cutting a clove of garlic in half and rubbing it on your arms. 0% 0 Votes
