Most small town things like that have been completely done away with. It%26#039;s also quiet possible your local laws prevent those kind of sales now.Does the bakery that made the goods, and drove the trucks even still exist? It%26#039;s quiet probable that fuel simply makes it too expensive for that kind of thing.
The other thing is their insurance rates might go WAY up, if they are driving around a truck that children chase, and swarm around.
If the driver is handing out food directly to the customers he will need to be tested for TB (but not if he%26#039;s just delivering it to the store!).
If you have any of the big box stores in your town, or near it, it%26#039;s quiet unfortunately unlikely a small town bakery would ever be able to compete again.
One upside possible though. There is a local bakery in my general area, called Great Harvest. They do a fantastic, and booming business selling at the local farmers markets! They always have little samples of what-ever their bread on special is. A delivery van arrives several times during the course of the farmers market, and delivers fresh baked bread to their booth. Or you can just go strait to their bakery.
It%26#039;s possible a small town bakery would do very well at a local farmers market. Just something for you to consider.

Will never happen, the good old days are gone. If you want it back, start your own business.
