Seems to me what needs saving is the current situation which us humans have become acustomed to. Changes to that wont hurt the earth but will hurt us.

My point is the earth don%26#039;t need saving. If the earth can tolerate a giant meteor hit 65 million tears ago wiping out almost all life it sure can handle an oil spillOther Answers (10)

It is the same thing is it not, thereby creating a paradox kind of a damned if you don%26#039;t scenario.
-
thats true, i mean no u cant physically hurt the earth with garbage or w/e, you will only hurt the animals and everything living on it. the earth is a giant ball of magma with rock and dirt, doesnt sound to weak to me. but still yeah u should protect at least yourself and the defenseless animals of the planet!
Give a hoot! dont polute!!! -
The Earth will be fine, it%26#039;s us we need to save - or do we?
-
It is for saving the earth and our habitat.
-
i said both because are habitat is very to live in and we need to keep it clean. Save the Earth because it getting bad by Global Warming and we don%26#039;t need the next generation to do bad examples for this great Country of are.
-
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no. I am guessing you are trying to get a reaction from people, because that is the most asinine thing I have ever heard regarding the environment. Radiation is bad....mmkay? The atmosphere that we are destroying keeps out a lot of stuff that would kill every living thing on the planet.
*If a large enough meteor hit the Earth, we would all be dead, the Earth as a rock would still exist, but the cloud of debris from the impact would be carried into the atmosphere and block out sunlight* -
Seriously? Do you honestly think all this save the earth stuff is stupid? So your completely ok with animals dieing, the ozone layer fading away and global warming? the earth got along fine withouit us because modern technology wasn%26#039;t invented yet. Because of our cars and all the other stuff that we use, THATS why the earth is STARTING to be destroyed now. I don%26#039;t get what you mean by the current situation that we are accustumed to though....

If we save the earth then we automatically is saving our habitat they both complement each other.

In a way you are correct, there is the old George Carlin joke.
%26quot;Some people today worry about a giant meteor striking the planet, %26#039;The planet will be destroyed they say%26#039;.... Baloney., the Earth is a planet, and has been going around the sun for some time now, hit by many meteors, comets and stuff.
So don%26#039;t worry, the PLANET will be just fine, continuing along in it%26#039;s orbit.... The people are f*cked...but the planet will be just fine. %26quot;
It%26#039;s like that, crime, pollution, global warming, really don%26#039;t affect the %26quot;planet%26quot; as such, - although some forms of pollution may permanently alter some environments (such as highly radioactive material storage etc or destroy mega-ecosystems (giant reef corals or some such).
The thing I think I find somewhat compelling is NOT - oh we must save the earth because of X, but rather what sort of world do we leave our children, a world denuded of natural systems, an vast ocean system , systematically emptied in less than 60 years.
We some of this destruction is unavoidable, other aspects - not so much. Even were we to choose very wisely, we would still face serious problems as there are just too many people. -
you are so right i feel the same way!!!! Saving the earth is so stupid...
