I see your point xyz, but I am thinking that when the gas price at the pump goes down to under 3 dollars/gallon or near it, at least for a while then the savings for the customer will be zero. So averaging out your 15 dollars/fill-up becomes much lower cost to the dealer.

I wouldn%26#039;t take it that way. I think it%26#039;s more likely that they will make more money on that promise than they will if they just keep it the way it is. People will think they are getting an excellent deal, but right now it%26#039;s only saving them around $15 per fill-up (with a 15-gallon tank and 3.99 gas prices). It would take a lot of fill-ups in order to even pay one gas fill-up. The promotion is also probably limited to a relatively short amount of time (maybe 2 year?) in which time gas prices won%26#039;t go up an incredible amount (hopefully), and they%26#039;ll again be around the same price.Other Answers (1)

Not at all. It means the dealership is making so much profit, they can afford to offer you this deal. Thats all.
