I%26#039;ve been installing home made Solar panels. Solar stoves, Solar batch and inline hot water heaters. Solar radiant heating. Solar home heating and AC, along with home made wind gens and other alternative energy items for the last 3 years.
You can even make the above projects on site with simple parts from the local hardware stores or auto stores or junk yards. For more info check out some guides I wrote / compiled on how to DIY www agua-luna com
Again these projects can be accomplished anywhere by anyone.
if you absolutely can%26#039;t do anything in your home at least you can put alternative fuels in your car. most major automotive manufacturers (Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, etc) recommend the use of bio fuels, and nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves ethanol blends in their warranty coverage.
In fact your probably even driving an ethanol car and didn%26#039;t even know it.
The trick is finding fuel.
I%26#039;ve been producing biofuel for about 3 years now, it%26#039;s not extremely difficult. Basically you need general household ingredients, a processor (or still for ethanol) and some used oil. Blend it, let separate, screen and use. I complied a guide a while back to help walk you threw the process step by step, just email me or check out..

as for recyling the best way i%26#039;ve found without taking money from your won pocket is to join a free freecycle group in your area or visit the habitat for humanity.
If you’d like help in making your self sufficient steps, feel free to contact me directly. I’ve written several how-to DIY guides available at www agua-luna com
on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others “help the environment”.

These are all the things that i do and some tips if you haven%26#039;t done them.
Well first of all when your using the computer limit some time. And when you leave the computer on sleep or hibernate you shouldn%26#039;t do that, if everyone didn%26#039;t do that that would be the equivalent of taking tons of cars off the road.
Also when you go to school do carpools with your friends it saves gas and stops more junk getting into the air. And its also a good way to spend a little more time with friends.
Another thing you could do is when your washing the car and all the soap is on the ground don%26#039;t let it go down the drain or else it will go to the bay and kill all the animals and sea animals.
And also another thing is that since gas prices are so high now people can ride bikes and scooters and stuff like that. Use the car when you really need to not just for like going to a store that%26#039;s a block away. It will save the earth and save you money.
Another thing that will really help is to recycle. Recycle bags, cans, almost anything. Use it again.
Plant a garden too. It will smell nice and is earth friendly. -
Recycle
Buy Local (food)
Walk
Bike
or take the bus
Unplug electric appliances when not using them
Hang my clothes outside instead of using the dryer
take short showers (use low flow showerhead)
Open window, instead of turning on the A/C
grow a garden
Print (if I have to) on both sides of the paper
..now I%26#039;m trying to get my parents to switch to renewable energy.. you can to, to see if your state offfers renewable energy go to www.eere.energy.gov/greenpower -
1. Reuse it.
2. Recycle it.
3. If you%26#039;re not using it, turn it off.
4. Use CFLs.
5. Use Energy Star appliances.
6. Plant more trees and plants.
7. If it%26#039;s yellow, let it mellow... if it%26#039;s brown, flush it down.
8. Use public transportation when possible.
9. Walk or ride a bicycle when possible.
10. Go vegetarian. -
I recycle, drive a hybrid car, use florescent lightbulbs, turn off lights and electronic devices when not in use,I keep my cats indoors so they are not hunting native wildlife, and I also work as a wildlife biologist who helps remove non-native plant species from nature, educates the public, enforces laws protecting wildlife and works studying and helping save endangered bird species.

I recycle my plastic bags. I don%26#039;t have a recycle bin at home because my dad said to me%26quot; It%26#039;s under my feet%26quot; so I%26#039;m trying to convince him to let me have one recycle bin. I do recycle paper and cardboard at a church because they have those yellow and green gigantic bins for everybody to recycle. I will try to recycle cans and bottles. I honestly don%26#039;t throw them away.

My friends, teachers, and I have started recycling programs in our communities and schools. We also organized a program in which the whole neighbourhood pitched in to help plant and beautify the surroundings. And to add to that, there is no more litter in our school (FINALLY!!!).
