Earth Hour was actually a huge disappointment for me. From 8-9, nearly all the houses on our street still had lights on.

I mean it%26#039;s for one hour! Geez, can%26#039;t people not use electricity for one hour?

On March 29th, people were supposed to turn off their lights and not use any electricity for one hour, from 8PM-9PM.

Gosh people, it was a symbolic gesture to raise awareness about climate change.

We went for a walk to see the city where we live, most of those lights were off and it looked cool.

Its a shame that it wasnt more advertised about it and more people did it, our street was the same as well most houses had the lights on. Not ours though :)

• We have the Press and the TV gossiping incessantly about the private lives of film actors and actresses. But the role of the mass media in informing about Earth Hour or the possible ways in which the people could observe it is abyssmaly low and poor. Many people who would have gladly supported the efforts of Earth Hour were not informed and thus left out ... And I am one of such victims ! What a pity ...

• from the start of this concept, i see no sense why should we turn off lights for one hour and at night. I am an environmentalist 24/7 but for one hour, why not the air conditioning units or heaters instead? We can adjust our clothings, by but gosh, how can we adjust our visions if it is totally dark?
• I sat in a friend%26#039;s garage, which was being heated by several electric space heaters. I enjoyed 4-5 margaritas, which were made in a giant electricity-guzzling machine.
