What do you do when a cayote apraoches you? ? where i live there are many cayotes. my friend was running and a cayote came after her. luckly she was able to run away fast enough. if that cayote were to attack or somthing, would the best thing to be to hit it? scream?

you should NEVER hit the cayote or scream.
screaming or hitting or any kind of violence will give out bad senses to the cayote.
basically, to the cayote, humans are not their prey.
they dont want to eat you or anything.
try to be calm too.
you shud also have a phone with you too, in case of emergencies.

• my idea would be to make as much noise as possible. if you run it will likely chase you. if you walk backwards or slowly move away you should be ok as well. Your best bet is to try not to startle any wild animal in its OWN habitat. Making loud noises and not runing away but walking should do the trick. I usually just keep on doing what im doing.

• Running is not a very good idea, you can%26#039;t outrun one. A human can run at a max speed of around 10mph a coyote around 30mph. Stand your ground a look as big as possible. A big stick is good too.
