There are so many things. Death of loved ones is one of the biggest effects. Another is the path of destruction left. Homes, schools, and buisnesses are destroyed. Not to mention the amount of emotional damage. All of these things could lead to depression.

Besides the negetive effect it has on a society, it seems to bring people closer together and it teaches you to appreciate life.
