New technology in power generation. Better solar cells, wind turbines etc. They are making oil and coal based electrical systems less attractive. It%26#039;s a long term trend that should be encouraged. 71% 5 Votes

• I%26#039;m from Portland, OR...which is rated #2 in the world for being %26#039;Green%26#039;. Everything that the rest of the US sees as %26#039;new technology%26#039; has been in use for over 20 years in Portland.
  
  The most important discovery recently is %26#039;awareness%26#039;. People need to be aware what is happening and how they can contribute to fixing the problem that%26#039;s going to be a very big threat very soon. Currently we%26#039;re a little too self-centered to care enough to get things going in the direction to save ourselves. So, we get people aware and concerned about their own actions, then it can be a total combined effort to clean up.
