What percentage of American taxes go toward environmental causes? Let%26#039;s face it - Americans pay a pretty big amount of taxes. Does anyone know the actual percentage that goes toward anything having to do with the environment, trees or wildlife? Thanks!

1 cent would be way too much. Tax the liberal tree hugers for this. What I find so disturbing, they won%26#039;t allow any National Forest to be harvested, but by god you better spend what every it takes to put out them fires when they get lose.

• I would say somewhere around .1% probably even less since it is not the governments role so support enviromental causes. But the governmetn founds the park service and other things like that and study water flow of rivers, errosion, and other geological stuff to help protect Americans. The government studies many things about the enviroment they don%26#039;t found or should%26#039;nt found enviromental causes.
