Reuse what?
There could be a number of reasons. We want to save money, we want to generate less waste, we%26#039;re too lazy to buy a new one, etc.

To utilize our resources in a sustainable manner so that future generation does not have to compromise their needs for ours.

Because it is cheaper, sometimes a whole lot cheaper, than not reusing.
For example, re-cycling iron is a lot cheaper than mining and smelting iron ore. So iron has been recycled since the beginning of its use. Same with copper, silver, gold, etc.
Everything that is profitable to recycle is recycled without anyone having to make a big deal out of it.
Stuff where the economics are not so good, like glass, paper, and tires, require more %26quot;encouragement%26quot; for people to recycle.

Making new things from recycled ones takes less money, less energy, and less of the Earth’s resources. Because less energy is used, factories don’t release as much pollution either.
