to anyone who does care, visit www.therainforestsite.com to help save rainforest land that is being cut down for multiple things!!The idea is very basic: When humans are given a resource that is available to anyone who takes it, humans will take all of it as soon as possible without thought to the consequences or the future.
For example: What would happen if a suitcase full of cash was spilled above a major freeway? The cash showers down on the drivers....and disaster! The greed of the people involved would completely override their sense of safety and fair play. People would be killed, cars wrecked, and traffic jammed up for miles. The cost of the damage done would be much higher than the potential profit from grabbing the cash, yet humans do not think that way, and so it is with nearly every facet of human society.
As long as greed is the driving force the environment will suffer.
In developed countries, we use more resources than anyone else on Earth, but are we are finally beginning to learn from our mistakes. Now other countries want to develop and they are about 50-75 years behind us. They will waste their water, land and even their citizens health just like we did 50-75 years ago. I am afraid that by the time they catch up, there may not be anything left to save.

I%26#039;ve been installing home made Solar panels. Solar stoves, Solar batch and inline hot water heaters. Solar radiant heating. Solar home heating and AC, along with home made wind gens and other alternative energy items for the last 3 years.

if you absolutely can%26#039;t do anything in your home at least you can put alternative fuels in your car. most major automotive manufacturers (Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, etc) recommend the use of bio fuels, and nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves ethanol blends in their warranty coverage.
In fact your probably even driving an ethanol car and didn%26#039;t even know it.
The trick is finding fuel.
I%26#039;ve been producing biofuel for about 3 years now, it%26#039;s not extremely difficult. Basically you need general household ingredients, a processor (or still for ethanol) and some used oil. as for recyling the best way i%26#039;ve found without taking money from your won pocket is to join a free freecycle group in your area or visit the habitat for humanity.
