Why should I save electricity when others don%26#039;t? I am told that if I turn my TV off instead of leaving it in standby then I can save power. However every church I drive past at night is illuminated like Blackpool in September, from the outside! Can anybody tell me why?

Sorry some of you seem to be missing the point: I do save power, I want to know how the obvious can be missed?

They probably believe God will solve the problem for them. Or the sooner they destroy earth, the sooner armageddon will occur. Just be happy you are saving on your power bill.

• Because there are others that save electricity too. Yes, there%26#039;re a whole bunch of idiots out there who don%26#039;t turn off the devices and lights that they could - but it%26#039;s their cash.
  
  Personally, I make a point of turning off just about everything I can unless it%26#039;s being activily used. Many others do exactly the same thing.
• To save as much money that you can to be abel to pay for gas the national average is $3.40. Do you thank that churchs care its not there money. You give to the offering dont you?. I tried to give them my sheep but it was not worth any value so whats that tell you about the HOLEY CHURCH?!!!!!!!! It tells me God Gives us the power to rip off the comunity and pocket the offerings and have $200,000 homes and act like we belive in some stupid merical.

• well if everyone thought like that LOADS more power would be used, you have to just do it for yourself, not worry about what everyone else is or isnt doing

  just turning off dosnt save power, turning off from the main/wall socket dose. your tv (and other appliences) will still use about 80% of the power they use when in use.

  Do your own bit, don%26#039;t worry about anyone else, they%26#039;re not your immediate problem.
