Will you start taking off the wrapping at the checkout? There is far too much plastic going to landfill because of everything being over wrapped. Will you join in taking off the wrapping at the checkout so the supermarkets chains get the message? Of course buy the cheaper bag of carrots, but then take them out the bag AT THE CHECKOUT. You get the bargain, the managers at the top will get the message. Win, win situation for you and the environment. Don%26#039;t say you can%26#039;t because of embarrasment, because if little me (5%26#039;1%26#039;%26#039;) can do it and others I know do and we all start to...

Yesterday I took off the wrapping off my potatoes, carrots and the tray etc off my tomatoes at the checkout (all happy) and the lady behind me over reacted negatively by reaching over my shopping and snatching several free plastic carrier bags for her two small items. I wonder if she is on today? Bless. You can%26#039;t have an omellete without cracking some eggs.

I believe if the shop has to deal with the wrapping (but there has to be more do it) then they will have to PAY to have it removed and not ask for one swede to be in shrink wrap. Swedes do not need it, nor does bananas...

  • Doesn%26#039;t matter much, because I recycle plastic at home anyway (and in the supermarket, it just goes into regular bins).

If you do take off the packaging infront of them, I%26#039;d advise that:
    - You don%26#039;t delay people behind
    - You do it so they actually know why you%26#039;re doing it (or you%26#039;ll look a bit daft)

Its a good principle though. 0% 0 Votes
