Would you like to see a green-science version of Tomorrows World, to showcase the ethical/responsible side...? of science....and to celebrate and make famous scientists, who can inspire young kids, not just to invent and inovate, but to make a positive contribution towards a completely sustainable civilization [ecologically speaking].

if science wants to redeem its public image, hasnt it got to demonstrate not just technical mastery, but ethical integrity?

A good idea.
but the advertisers won%26#039;t like it; even the BBC magazines mostly carry adverts for large expensive cars.
Why else do they keep trolling out Top Gear, the least green/ethically responsible programme ever?

You are correct about the public image of science. I think every story/item should be required to report the environmental/ethical side, evry story has one, eg beckams being the most polluting people for 2nd year running. It can be done in a fun entertaining way, but unfortunatly the standard of journalism seems to be reduced to repeating offical press releases, and journalists don%26#039;t like to think about inconvenient facts, and few seem to have any grasp of basic science.
The only science that gets covered regularly are weather, medicine and cute/dangerous animals.

  • Cracking idea, but I seem to recall Tomorrow%26#039;s World being the kiss of death to any new cool inventions.
  • I`m starting to think both Lawyers and Scientist should be throw-en into the sewer pipes
