What a good question, until now I had never thought about it. Maybe the owners of these large buildings think they are above everyone else. Start a petition to get them turned off!

Yes, they could do their part and turn off most of their lights, but for obvious reasons they would need tower antenna lights for incoming and outgoing air traffic.

I agree light pollution is a growing concern as is the excess electricity wasted. Some people work at night. I know I do.

not only is it light popution that is enerdy being wasted. of corse they want their company safe, but in the least they could use sencer lights, those would save enegy for this (necesary) evil.

Lights are needed for cleaning crews, also security %26amp; anyone who has to burn the midnite oil trying to catch up on work. Yes, it would be nice if they would reduce the lights, but the only time I like to go through Chicago, NYC, %26amp; other major cities is at night. Traffic is better %26amp; the skyline is so pretty at night.
