its the new Lightening and Maibatsu who plan to launch it in 2009 claim it can reach 60MPH in 4 seconds pretty cool for an electric car is this the death-knell for petrol/gasoline/diesel

The Tesla Roadster can already do that (0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds). But yes, electric cars will be the end of the internal combustion engine.
