Volcanoes can cause a wide range of effects. Mount St. Helens blanketed the western United States with an ash cloud that dropped temperatures significantly. Less recently, a volcano in Indonesia erupted with such violence, temperatures around the world dropped a few degrees Farenheit as a result of the ash cloud. Also, one eruption releases more CO2 and greenhouse gases then humans have in our entire history.

They create heat and underwater near the poles this heat and lava they have found microbes and seen that the volcanic energy with no sunlight in deep, deep waters, can sustain life--like on another celestial body perhaps.
