How do volcanos effect us?
Best Answer
Volcanoes can cause a wide range of effects. Mount St. Helens blanketed the western United States with an ash cloud that dropped temperatures significantly. Less recently, a volcano in Indonesia erupted with such violence, temperatures around the world dropped a few degrees Farenheit as a result of the ash cloud. Also, one eruption releases more CO2 and greenhouse gases then humans have in our entire history.

1. They can kill you if you are too close when one erupts.
2. They can create islands you can live on. Hawaii is a good example.

Volcanoes play an important function on earth. During the %26quot;snowball earth%26quot; period where the entire surface of the planet was covered in snow and ice if it weren%26#039;t for the greenhouse gas emissions of volcanoes human beings would not be here. In fact, in astronomy, to find a geologically active moon or planet, and they have found a few, is a tremendous discovery!! Also in the ocean volcanoes create new land masses for unique and intriguing lifeforms to populate such as the Hawaiian islands.
The also create about 1% of the energy (the sun 99% here on earth) into the environment. They create heat and underwater near the poles this heat and lava they have found microbes and seen that the volcanic energy with no sunlight in deep, deep waters, can sustain life--like on another celestial body perhaps.
