How to convert a motorcycle to hybrid? I am currently researching on how to convert a gas powered motorcycle to a hybrid one. I need suggestions and further help.

I plan to connect an electric motor to the gas engine. The electric motor is powered by batteries. I will be using an alternator to charge this batteries followed by a voltage regulator to supply the right voltage to the batteries. Once the batteries are fully charged then I will be able to use the electric motor to power-up the gas engine. The gas engine by the way is hooked up to the alternator so as it runs it charge the batteries.

Right now I am having a problem to which battery to use. I%26#039;m thinking of NiMH batteries but it%26#039;s too expensive and I don%26#039;t know voltage is best suited in this situation.

If you guys have anymore suggestions regarding what setup to use please feel free to expound. I need your opinions. Thanks! :) 29% 2 Votes
  • Get you a 2 x 4 and strap it to the front forks. Then get you a bed sheet and attach it to the 2 x 4 tie it off and capture the wind.Batteries not included. 14% 1 Vote
  • The Hybrid Electric motors are typically a HUB-type that is sandwiched between the Gas engine and transmission, and that electric motor doubles as the Alt. 14% 1 Vote
