I%26#039;m thinking of converting from oil heating to electric and I am currently using oil for hot water radiation I need some info on how to do it and what percentage of savings I can expect by converting. I will still have my hot water radiation but it will be powered by electricity instead of oil. I would appreciate any feedback . Thanks

• I remodeled my house to be all electric a few years back. All new wiring, new outlets, new heating and a/c. First cold month we had, I got treated to a $600 electric bill. That was for keeping 3 freaking rooms at 65F; I shut the rest of the house off.
  
  I brought in a propane tank last winter and hooked it onto a ventless gas heater. MUCH more affordable and now the house is actually warm. Electric heat is way expensive. Your best bet is to insulate the tar out of your place. 29% 2 Votes
• Electric is expensive. They have some new solar hot water heating systems. The sun heats the water and a pump rotates the water back to the heater. A hybrid oil/solar system will help you cut cost. 0% 0 Votes
