If people make cars that run on water as an alternative to gas cars wouldn%26#039;t we run out of water? and if we run out of water the would have to make another alternative wouldn%26#039;t they? wouldn%26#039;t we eventually run out of resources? Because even if we had solar cars would it not take a lot of electricity and pollution to create these solar panels? Is there really a zero emission way to run a car?
Sorry my question is so long but I really want to know.

ya i know it runs on hydrogen cells durr (no i didn%26#039;t know that for real) but when it goes back to its source A.K.A rivers streams lakes oceans will marine animals be able to survive if there is no oxygen in the water because eventually with 8 billion people and 3 quarters of these people have cars we would use A LOT of hydrogen

Best Answer

If these cars did work the principal is to break water down to it%26#039;s basic elements of hydrogen and oxygen, and the igniting them either in a combustible engine, of a fuel cell, which the end product is the emissions they produce is water again.

now for the solar panels, no they do not cause emissions, and neither do the electric motors.
So an electric car, charged by solar panel, would be essentially emissions free. jcms

thanks i really didn%26#039;t know the cycle of which the hydrogen becomes a fuel.

  • Given that there is roughly 1.5 million cubic kilometers of water on the earth. It would take several billion years to use it all.

    %26quot;will marine animals be able to survive if there is no oxygen in the water %26quot;

Ummm, water is made up of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom. If there isnt an oxygen atom then its not water, its hydrogen gas.
  • Water never fully disappears though, it keeps going through the water cycle.

    1.) Evaporation (and transpiration)
    2.) Condensation
    3.) Precipitation
    4.) Collection

If they were to invent a car that ran on water itself, the water would either leave the car in the form of water, or steam (evaporating water.) Either way, following the water cycle, the water is never going to completely disappear.
  • I%26#039;m assuming you%26#039;re referring to Hydrogen fueled engines... they are fueled with H2, not water... the exhaust is water though. The answer is no.
  • No!!
These cars that you are talking about are running on air and the extort pipe drains out a little bit of water.
  • Hydrogen is the most abundant element on Earth--
  • No
  • I don%26#039;t think so since the earth is 2/3 H20.
