If they bought back cars where you had to crack the engine to start the car would this?

Of course there would be less driving.
However the cars that had hand crank engines had much smaller engines and were much lighter.
If today%26#039;s cars were the same weight and similar HP, the mileage would be such that there would likely be no need for foreign oil.
You would be replacing the battery and starter - no savings on fuel cost or emissions. The act of starting your car (seconds) doesn%26#039;t compare to the act of running your car (minutes/hours).
not directly, but because people are too lazy to drive round the corner, yes.
it would also cut down the amount of female drivers, so I%26#039;m all for it ;-)
