We have been using deuterium as Heavy Water as a moderator in our CANDU nuclear reactors since we began using CANDU. Finding deuterium (hydrogen with an extra neutron) has been a significant cost even when used to produce gigawatts of power with it. The only limitation I see here is that deuterium is naturally quite rare. 0% 0 Votes
