Why are we still using fuel made of petroleum? Don%26#039;t people know how old this technology is? A hundred years ago, cars, airplanes, trains, and ships were on petroleum based fuel just like we are today. Essentially, the technology is the same. We were able to put a man on the moon less than 70 years after the first flight, but we are still completely dependent on oil. Why is that?

Soon thereafter Aptera will introduce the typ-1h, a plug-in hybrid version of the typ-1e with a 40-60 mile range on purely electrical energy, and a range of over 600 miles total when in electric/gas hybrid mode, for around $30,000. On a 120 mile trip, the typ-1h will get 300 miles per gallon. The shorter the trip, the higher the efficiency.

  • No doubt!! We should use solar, wind and water as much as possible. You cant tell me we cant come up with reliable recharageable cars and motorcylces that are juice up by solar panels and wind turbines. People are spoiled and too lazy to set up the new infrastructure to do this 0% 0 Votes
  • 1.Because Camaro%26#039;s don%26#039;t run on water and Nobody%26#039;s invented a good enough battery yet.

2.They went to the moon on Nitromethane. IE:Rocket Fuel.

3.If Harley Davidson built a quiet battery powered Chopper they would go out of business.

4.I used an electric lawn mower once and after the frustration of barely cutting through moderate length grass and then running over the 110 volt cord, I finished the job with a gas mower.

    5. The technology may be old but it is the best as far as power, distance and convenience. I suppose that%26#039;s the same reason toilets and the wheel haven%26#039;t changed since they were invented.
Though intrigued, I%26#039;m not so sure we%26#039;ve heard of the best replacement for petroleum based fuel just yet. Meaning the current one%26#039;s like Corn, Electric etc. etc. etc. 36% 4 Votes
