Dear Chives,
Yes, unfortunately our dear sweet harmless manatees have been on the endangered species list since the early 1970%26#039;s. I love the manatees so much and it really hurts me to know that people in their speed boats run them over and the propellers tend to cut into their backs and leave them dead or leave mangled scars on their backs and just take off and leave them bleeding and helpless after they hit them. And these same people know they have hit them and do not go back to check on them to see how badly they have mamed them.
we are talking about the sweetest harmless manatees that would not hurt a fly. They are the gentle giants of the rivers in Florida and should be protected at all costs.
