Are you eco-freindly?

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

I have a yard full of native plants and wildlife finding refuge in the suburbs right outside my door. Since I live in an area prone to drought, the plants are drought-tolerant, which means I use a minimal amount of water to maintain their vigor.

My car gets above average gas milage, I precycle, I recycle, and I volunteer at a local nature preserve. I could do better, but I am conscious about how my actions impact the environment. My ecological footprint is greater than I%26#039;d like it to be, and I%26#039;m working on getting it down to further minimize the impacts I have on the planet. 40% 2 Votes

  • I guess you can say I am. I dig holes in my yard to dump organic scraps in. I converted my car to run on E85, I cut down on use of electrical devices, like unplugging them when I don%26#039;t need them, sometimes I shut down the circuit box to some rooms. I take showers, I use LCD TV%26#039;s and screens instead of CRT or plasma. I also help at school by going around the community; planting trees. I only use one flourescent lighbulb for one room, and I program all of my computers to hibernate after 5 minutes of idle time. I recycle, that%26#039;s for sure. When I am stuck in traffic I shut off my car. I do the most that I can to save the environment. My friends say that I am a freak because I worry too much, but I feel good about what I do. 20% 1 Vote
  • No. I drive older cars that have fewer pollution controls. I heat my home with coal much of the winter. I don%26#039;t recycle. I don%26#039;t get too excited if I spill hazardous stuff on the ground (not intentionally of course). I pretty much use up the earth%26#039;s natural resources as I see fit, with no remorse. 20% 1 Vote

  • Yes, I drive a small Hyundai that gets 35-40 mpg. I also recycle everything that I possibly can.
I%26#039;ve started using %26quot;Bio-Bags%26quot; instead of plastic trash bags. They completely biodegrade in the landfill (this is done by micro-organisms). I buy them at my local natural food store, but they are also for sale on drugstore.com 0% 0 Votes
