Logging if possible will reduce the amount of combustible material on the surface. But it may not be enough. typical logging will leave a lot of limbs and brush all over the mountains and that can support just massive and fast fires for years.
To get the risk even moderate it is necessary to strip all that brush and limbs, take it away and make paper or fabric from it.
Ultimately there is a need to preserve water and irrigate those areas that get so dry. That irrigation can allow trees on those mountains to absorb CO2 so that you can have less drought.
But the irrigation needs to be done on a much larger scale than your local fire suppression zone. This is a global issue.

We stop the fires.
One of the reasons they continue is the burn areas are hard to get to; such areas would not be possible to log.

We put the fires out.
