The age of consent is the age you can legally enter into a sexual relationship. At 17 it is clearly legal for you to engage in the sexual behavior of your choosing However, it may or may not be legal for your partner. Specifically if he is younger than you by much of a margin or older than you by more than a year or two.
Things like statutory rape can be enforced by a persons parent or guardian if the age difference falls beneath the man act. For example a 17 year old girl babysitting that has consensual sexual relations with an 11 year old boy could be in violation of a criminal statute. Likewise a 30 year old man having sex with a seventeen year old girl likely would be imprisoned for a lengthy period.
A quick call to your local police department (non emergency number) and the question %26quot; How old does a woman have to be to engage legally in sexual relations in our state and what age restriction is there on her partners%26quot;? would go along way to solve your queries- far better than this forum.

I guess it means you have to be an adult, I%26#039;m assuming at age 18, so you still don%26#039;t have the age of consent...I think you need to give more info, if you want a good answer.

At 18, you are free to do what you will without having to obtain permission from your parents.
You can get married, you can sign documents and your signature is binding upon you for any legal ramifications, such as in a contract. You can acquire your own bank account with no co-signer, obtain credit if someone thinks you%26#039;re qualified and will offer it to you, but YOU are responsible for all financial obligations you may incur.

I don%26#039;t what the age of consent is in Maryland. It%26#039;s easy enough to find out. Do a little research. Make a few phone calls and you%26#039;ll get your answer.
Age of consent means you have to be old enough to marry without the permission from your parents or legal guardian.
All states have their own laws consent. If you live in Maryland then you have to do what I said above. Call your city hall and they can answer that question for you. 0% 0 Votes
