  • CERTAINLY. 1 case I know of, Acompany called Rastra re-cycles it in a cementous mixture and makes building blocks, which, when laid and filled w/ lightweight concrete, produces a strong, durable and very well insulated building/residence.
These types of buildings are very much in use in Europe and other progressive countries. A bit expensive initally, but it pays for itself quickly. It is very good for the enviornment. You can find it onthe internet.
  • styrofoam might be re-used in the gardening industry to mix with heavy soils to lighten them and make them partially hydrophobic . unfortunately it does not look well in the plant pot. it is cut to small pices, optimally into individual balls of the styrofoam.

the other way of reusing is filling of the sandwich building units - have two layers of wood, one outer, one inner and fill the gap between them with the pelletized styrofoam. it works much the same like filling with the wooden chips, or straw. redneck solution, but energy saving.
  • You can reuse it yourself, but other than that, no it can%26#039;t be recycled. If you burn it, it releases carbon monoxide and it si bad for the environment.
  • nope, suppose to go in the garbage everytime.
