Courses to take for ecology or wildlife ecology? I%26#039;m currently at a community college and I%26#039;m almost done with my GE. I want to eventually go into wildlife ecology or just ecology. I%26#039;m a bit confused on what time of Associate%26#039;s program I need? Is it considered Biology? What classes would be under an Ecology program? Thank you!

Load up on zoology and botany courses, primarily. You will also need chemistry, statistics, and basic physics. Don%26#039;t neglect English; you will spend a lot of your time writing reports (sigh) and you want to be able to get your point across.

  • In addition to the English classes, and biology classes, you should look at taking a statistics class. All of the data that is used in scientific research is processed using statistics. At the community college level, I would take as much science and math. Don%26#039;t forget Geology... Geology is biology, chemistry, and physics all rolled into one, real world science.
