Do room lights, put off that much heat?
I remember being in grade school, when it was hot outside, the teacher would turn the lights off. Claiming, it would make the room cooler. Why? How much heat does lighting actually put off, anyhow?

The wattage rating tells you the heat output. Flourescents used in many school put out virtually no heat, but the ballasts that operate them put out quite a bit. Not enough to prove her point though, sorry.
