Does Teak trees consume all water in soil?
I have heard conflicting arguments on this. Does teak trees really deplete all the water resources in the soil? Can some one clarify?

Of course not. If they did that, how would they survive? They depend on moisture to live, so they have to keep the soil moist, not the contrary. Some Teak planted stands seem to be drier when fire is used to control competition from other species. It%26#039;s the fire that degrades the soil.
