Start a compost in your backyard (where you put all unused food, leaves, etc) to add to your plants... recycle as much as necessary and try not to buy things that are individually wrapped.

organic garbage can be turned into compost there are many communities that have massive commercial composting yards these can be the size of 6 football fields the composted material is then used for city gardens and other landfill projects.Non organic garbage such as plastics, metals and glass can and are sorted on conveyor belts using magnets, metal detectors, air pressure and physical sorting to remove recyclable materials.

This is an interesting question. At work, when I empty the trash, I often think of what could we do about so much trash. A lot of it seems to be stuff that could be recycled if people would only recycle it! I have taken in upon myself to separate the stuff and take it to the proper recycling place. The stuff that couldn%26#039;t be taken to a recycling facility is often food waste that could be made into compost. I know it would be a lot more effort than it takes just to toss something in the trash can, but I think it would be very helpful and eco responsible.

Nature recycles all products. Natural science teaches that.
I think it%26#039;s good not to pollute, but all animals pollute. People who don%26#039;t understand that fact tend to live in big cities where there are very few animals and much less of a natural environment.
Those of us who live amongst nature understand it better.

Nothing at all wrong with a well managed city dump. All that stuff will eventually decompose and turn to oil. In the meantime, when the dump is full, it can be leveled, some clay packed on top, and turned into a subdivision.
