How can someone help endangered animals and under privelaged humans and who is ready to do something??
I really would like to do something for them. There are so many issues in the world right now and I just don%26#039;t know how they are going to end!! I want to do sooooooo much but I%26#039;m only 15! But that%26#039;s not the point. And even if we do have theories we never implement them. When will this all end?? So I just want to know your views and what can we do to deal with the many issues on earth.

Hi there - I think it%26#039;s wonderful that you%26#039;re wanting to do something. It%26#039;s true that there are a lot of problems that we%26#039;re facing, but it%26#039;s also never hopeless. First, I think you need to decide what issues are most important to you. No one will be able to solve or even help with all of the world%26#039;s problems. Perhaps global poverty is your issue, or maybe it%26#039;s global warming or child abuse. Do some reading online, check your local newspaper or local webpages, and get involved with organizations. Most places will take teenagers on as volunteers gladly!
You could, for example, tutor underprivileged children after school, or get involved with an adult literacy program. A couple web pages you might like:
www.kiva.org: If you have as little as $25 to spare, you can help make a loan to a small business owner in the third world for them to improve their business. This is called microfinancing, and it%26#039;s a really great tool for anyone.
www.volunteermatch.org: This will match your skills and talents with the pool of volunteer opportunities in your area.
And of course, you can always try to reduce your personal impact on the planet by consuming and using fewer resources - buy less stuff, eat lower on the food chain (more plants, less animal foods), and be conscious of what you throw away vs. reuse or donate.
Best wishes to you!
