these things are great my cousin has one and also a good friend has one they are great for heating and cooling. As for permits they did not need them as it is on your own property still still need them inspected by the building inspectors but no permits to install.Contact a heating/cooling company for installers get one that has experience and get references on jobs they did.Pay back is relatively quick from what they tell me

I think the term is %26quot;geothermal heat pump%26quot; Very expensive long payback.

it is expensive to install but the heat is free!! so over a long time can be a good thing. there may be reasons it is not a good idea in some areas due to nature of subsurface etc and underground movement breaking pipes and so on.
Contact your local council in the first instance to look into gaining advise. another good source will in fact be the web but not easy to find as few companies have the technology to set up for a domestic heat thermal; pumping system. Wish you well though as potentially a sound idea and easily possible.

You would need to contact a local HVAC contractor. Check your yellow pages. Make sure they are state certified, have a good standing with the BBB and get several quotes.
