Aside from the fact that your %26#039;question%26#039; as it is worded does not actually pose a question, conservation biology is rather important.
Conservation biology is concerned with protecting species and species diversity. The most important means of doing this is through protecting and even recovering habitat.
Species diversity is very important because whole ecosystems depend on the interrelatedness of species, many of which occupy fragile niches. Elimination of even one of these niche species can have cataclysmic effects on a whole regional ecosystem. The effects of this can be seen in damage to crop pollination, water quality, even the atmospheric cycle.
In short, ecosystems are incredibly complex, highly useful and surprising vulnerable, and it is prudent to keep protecting them mind as we go about our human business.
